The Emerging Leader Program is an opportunity for first semester students to get involved on campus. The program is designed to enhance leadership styles and skill sets that will help develop individual leadership potential.

  1.  How will I know if I have been selected for the program?

A.        All candidates will be sent an email no later than June 2; please include an email address that is checked frequently.

Q.   Am I required to live in Lowndes Hall if I join the Emerging Leader program?

       A.   Yes.  Students who participate in an LLC (Living Learning Community) live on the same floor and attend classes together. These students tend to become more involved in their communities, have more academic successes, and adjust more quickly to the academic and social demands of living at a large university.

Program Arrival Times:

Students selected for the program will be required to return to the campus and move-in to their assigned residence hall on August 10, 2008.   Each student will need to check-in at Lowndes Hall at the specified time in your acceptance letter. The entire group, along with participating campus faculty and administrators will depart from campus on August 11 to the retreat location and return to campus on August 12 to participate in Fall Explosion activities planned for freshman and returning VSU students.  Specific details will be in a letter by July 31, 2008.
