Student Advising Center
Sometimes for non-academic reasons (e.g. serious illness, death in the family), a student needs to request an Incomplete grade for a course. There are three factors to keep in mind: (a) The student must be passing the course; (b)The student must be almost finished with the course; (c) The student must initiate contact with the professor to make the request. A form for making this request is included in the link below. The student will use the form to provide a reason for the request, and the professor will state the work remaining and the deadline to remove the Incomplete grade. If you have questions, check with the department head of your major.
