Dr. Kuhlmeier

Dr. Kuhlmeier first joined the Langdale College of Business in Fall 2006 as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Marketing.  He became a full-time, tenure-track faculty member starting in Fall 2007 and is a faculty participant in the 2008 Study Abroad Program in Karlsruhe, Germany, a member of the University Web Editorial Board, and a member of the University Minority and Diversity Committee.  Originally from Iowa, Dr. Kuhlmeier received his B.A. in Public Administration from Drake University in Des Moines, IA.  He received his Master of Arts in International Affairs from Florida State University and a Master of International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, AZ.  Dr. Kuhlmeier has worked as an international freight forwarder in New York City; as the Director of the European Office in London, England for the Florida Department of Commerce, and as the Director of the Charleston, SC Office of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.  Dr. Kuhlmeier earned his Ph.D. in Marketing from Florida State University where he was awarded the University’s prestigious Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.  His areas of emphasis are international business, business-to business marketing, and electronic commerce.  His dissertation dealt with the effect of Internet technology on the exporter – intermediary relationship, especially the role of trust.  Dr. Kuhlmeier is a proud, single parent of three children with whom he enjoys spending time.  He is a former college-level baseball umpire, enjoys various outdoor pursuits, and teaches religious education classes in his church.
