Scott Manley is the director of the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) at Valdosta State University, and also serves as a management lecturer in the Langdale College of Business. He previously served as the assistant director of the Small Business Development Center. Before joining Valdosta State University in 1998, Scott gained extensive experience in the private sector. A former small business owner, he has experience in the fields of retail management, manufacturing, logistics, financial management, and sales management. He holds a BBA and MBA in Management, both from Valdosta State University, and is presently enrolled in the doctoral program at Kennesaw State University. Scott also serves on the Business Advisory Board of Valdosta State University’s Chapter of Students in Free Enterprise, and has twice led a group of SIFE students on an international consulting project to El Remate, Guatemala. In 2006, he was awarded the ASBDC Distinguished Service Award by the National Association of Small Business Development Centers, and in 2008, he was recognized as the Georgia SBDC Network's Consultant of the Year. In 2009, he was recognized as the association's "State Star." In his spare time, Scott enjoys saltwater fishing, deer hunting, RV camping, and spending time with his family. He serves as a deacon and sings in the chancel choir at First Baptist Church of Valdosta, but his true passion lies in the mission field, particularly in assisting “El Hogar de Muchos Manos” in Bejuma, Venezuela.
Michael McGreevey is a graduate assistant in the Center for Business and Economic Research. He grew up in Atlanta, GA and graduated from Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University and is currently working towards his Master’s Degree in Business Administration here at Valdosta State University. Before pursuing his MBA, Michael sold Real Estate in Atlanta for Keller Williams Realty where he was a designated EcoBroker and Million Dollar Sales Club Recipient. After his wife graduated from Mercer with a Doctorate in Pharmacy they moved to Valdosta. After Graduate School, Michael plans to go into business development and hopefully one day start his own business. When not going to school he works part time with a home remodel / repairman in the Valdosta area, is an avid golfer and loves spending time with his wife and two dogs. He and his wife love to travel and at the same time love to be at home.
