Dr. Donald L. Seat
Professor of Accounting
Dr. Seat has worked in corporate accounting, auditing, tax compliance and tax litigation. He has also worked in the not for profit sector and has maintained a CPA practice for nearly 30 years. Current large clients are served in Dallas, St Louis, Boca Raton and Valdosta. Smaller clients are served in 6 states and several foreign countries. Dr. Seat is also a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Accountants. This work includes business and divorce valuations as well as litigation support in the financial area.
Dr. Seat has served as a participant and site coordinator for the IRS sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for 26 consecutive years. In May 2001, Dr Seat was honored by being inducted into the IRS Volunteer Hall of Fame.
Dr. Seat has published a number of articles and has served as a speaker for innumerable professional and other groups. He served as author of a newspaper tax advice column "The Tax Doctor" for several years.
Dr. Seat has taught at several colleges and universities and served VSU's Department of Accounting and Finance as Department Head for a number of Years.
