The Langdale College of Business has established a rigorous Assurance of Learning (AOL) process to develop program and major learning goals and then measure achievement of these learning goals. Assessment at the program level is primarily for AACSB purposes, while the major level assessment is for SACS purposes.
The AOL oversight committee assisted by six learning goal teams directs the AACSB assessment process. The department heads along with faculty members are responsible for the SACS assessment. Our Assessment Process consists of direct assessment of student artifacts. The findings are then communicated to appropriate members of the Valdosta State’s academic community and used to develop and implement curricular improvements.
