Center for business and economic research

Welcome to the Georgia Regional Economic Analysis Project (GA-REAP – www.pnreap.org/Georgia), hosted by the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) at Valdosta State University.  GA-REAP is a web-based program you can use to create graphic trends analysis and tables of local economic indicators.  In addition to being a great source of local data at the county level, data are also provided at the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) and state levels.  GA-REAP provides interactive tools that allow you to conduct in-depth research and analysis on your own.  The reports generated by the GA-REAP for each economic analysis you perform clearly explain trends in the data and what those trends mean for the local area, in terms easily understood by non-experts.

The data included in the GA-REAP are population, personal income, per capita income, employment, total industry earnings, and average earnings per job.  You may view and download customized tabulations of economic data for Georgia’s 159 counties, 15 MSAs, or even look at metropolitan/non-metropolitan differences.  Note that MSAs sometimes cross state borders; data at the MSA level do include data from counties in neighboring states.  The data are annual, spanning 38 years, from 1969 to 2006.  As updates from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) are released, GA-REAP will be updated as well.

The Center is proud to collaborate with the Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Analysis Project (PN-REAP) to provide you with detailed economic data and analysis for the State of Georgia.  For more information about the Georgia Regional Economic Analysis Project, please contact Dr. Clifford A.
