The Executive-In-Residence Program
Purpose
The Executive-In-Residence (EIR) Program was initiated by the Langdale College Business Advisory Board members and was first successfully implemented in the fall of 2004 during the Langdale College Business Week. The purpose of the Program is to broaden horizons of the Langdale College students by facilitating open discussions between the students and experienced executives.
The goal of this program is to assist students’ successful transition into the business world by building a strategic relationship between Langdale College and the business community. The focus will be on establishing relationships with executives of leading companies in the Valdosta area; promoting job placement for senior and graduate students; coaching students through practical, proven and inspirational advice; and sponsoring career development programs. As they work with professors in developing our future work force, executives will discuss career options, interview tips and questions, and industry skill needs. The executives will also learn the concerns and aspirations of faculty and students; exchange ideas with faculty on business issues; and provide students and faculty their unique perspectives on business problems and opportunities.
