The Division of Information Technology is distributing campus-wide Jive, a new instant messaging system, during the Fall 2008 semester to all students, faculty and staff.
Customized for VSU, Jive is designed to meet the communication needs of the entire VSU community. After nearly two years in development, Jive is ready for its campus-wide debut.
Jive offers user friendly features including drag and drop file transfers, screen captures, multi-user chat rooms, encrypted data transfers, support for all major operating systems, and gateways to all other major IM networks such AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, GTalk, and ICQ. Additional features still in development will incorporate video/voice chat and even integration with Facebook.
Jive allows students, faculty and staff to immediately connect with classmates and co-workers through pre-populated buddy list groups. Jive is compatible with iPhone, and Blackberry (or any other smart phone).
