Expression Web running on Windows XP
Web space is granted as part of your email account. This is a step by step guide for the configuration of Expression Web to develop and publish personal home pages. In order to create personal home pages using Expression Web, you will need to use your VSU Email Username in order for the web server to authenticate access. Contact the Helpdesk to have your password reset if you are unfamiliar with your current password.
Step 1
Open Expression Web.

Step 2
Click on File, then New, then Web Site.

Step 3
Specify the location to save your files on your machine and click okay to create a One Page Web Site OR if you already have a website click Empty Web Site.

Step 4
Once the screen shows your new web site locate the buttons at the bottom. At first Folders is selected, click Remote Web Site.
NOTE: You must select the Web Site Tab at the top of your Content Pane to view these options.

Step 5
Click Remote Web Site Properties.

Step 6
A dialog box will open up, click FTP, then in remote web site location type in "ftp://www.valdosta.edu/" - in the FTP directory field type "public_html" then click ok.

Step 7
Type in your BlazeNet username and password, then click the OK button.

Step 8
If this your first time working on your website you are ready to start working, if not continue to step 9.
Local to remote - downloads your entire website from your local machine to remote for publishing. Remote to local - downloads your website to your
local machine for editing purposes. You probably will not use this option very often. Instead, on the page listed in step 9, highlight the page(s) you want to publish from your local machine then click the blue right arrow to the remote website. It will publish just the selected page(s).
Step 9
To download your site to your computer, highlight your website on the right and press the highlighted blue left arrow in the middle, then click the Publish Web site button.
