MANDATORY REGENTS TEST

In this section you will find more information on the Regents' Test which is a requirement for graduating from VSU.

The Regents' Test, normally taken during the semester after a student has completed 30 hours of semester credit, is designed to certify the reading and writing competency of all students in the University System of Georgia. Students who do not take and successfully pass both parts of the Regents’ Test by the time they reach 45 semester credit hours must take remediation courses in the area(s) not passed. The exam has two sections: Essay and Reading. Students are given 60 minutes to complete each section and are required to take both sections at one sitting. The Essay test requires the student to write a clear, organized essay on one of four topics; the Reading test requires the student to demonstrate reading comprehension skills.

Visit the Regents' Testing Program web site for a complete overview of the Regents’ exam, policies and procedures, sample and practice test, the complete listing of approved essay.
