TOEFL TEST INFORMATION
In this section you will find more information on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) which is a required test for admission to Valdosta State University.
What is TOEFL?
TOEFL is a test used to measure whether you have the appropriate language skills to do university/college work conducted in English. TOEFL is divided into 4 sections, each one measures your ability to do the following:
- Listening – understand English as it is spoken in North America.
- Structure– recognise language that is appropriate for standard written English.
- Reading – understand non-technical reading matter.
- Writing – write in English on an assigned topic.
Each section lasts for a specific length of time, and you can only work on each section during the time allowed for that section.

How do I register?
Complete and send the SUPPLEMENTAL PAPER-BASED TESTING Registration Form to the TOEFL main office in Princeton, New Jersey, USA. You will find this in a TOEFL booklet at the Sylvan Learning Center located 1709 River St. Valdosta, GA 31602 or you can call at 229-245-1069.
Online registration is now also an option. Pay by Visa, MasterCard or American Express, or by dollar check. You will receive information concerning the reporting time and test centre address.
How much does it cost?
All locations: $130.00
When will I get my results?
It can take from 4-6 weeks to report your test scores
How long will my results be valid?
Scores are valid for 2 years
Can I re-take the test?
You can repeat the test as often as you like, maximum once per month
