Activities
The Honors College participates and sponsors a variety of activities throughout the year. It offers special honor seminars with an interdisciplinary focus. These explore a wide range of interesting, controversial, and timely issues. Honors Forum is a series of discussions and lectures led by faculty, visiting scholars, and distinguished members of the community. The Honors College also sponsors the Honors Student Association, its major community service and social division. The Honors College is affiliated with the National Collegiate Honors Council, the Southern Regional Honors Council, and the Georgia Collegiate Honors Council. These affiliations afford wide opportunity for travel to academic conventions and conferences.
Typically, the Honors College holds and/or participates in the following events during the academic year: Freshman Honors Colloquium, The Happening, Fall Honors Convocation, HSA monthly meetings, University Homecoming events, Publishing the The Honora, Habitat for Humanity community service, William Bartram Award, National Collegiate Honors Council conference, Southern Regional Honors Council conference, Georgia Collegiate Honors Council conference, Honors Program New Student Orientation, Visitation Day, and the Spring Honors Recognition Ceremony. Please check with the Honors College office for specific times, dates, and places. Additional lectures, socials, and educational opportunities are held and announced throughout the year.
