STATUS (09/30/2010): Windows Live Mailbox Issues (Closed)

Description

On 9/30/2010 approximately 9:00am, we received reports that some, but not all users were unable to access their Windows Live e-mail accounts. Affected accounts would allow log ins, but would display the following error message when the user attempted to go to his or her e-mail:

Likewise, other users have reported that they received an error stating that the server was too busy. We reported this issue to Microsoft, who was already aware of the issue from reports from other customers. At this time, Microsoft has not provided us with timeline for resolution of the issue. However, you can follow an updated report of the status of the issue by taking the following steps:

  1. Go to Microsoft's Outlook Live Answers Website.
  2. Sign in with your Windows Live account.
  3. Click on the Service Status tab.
  4. Click on the RSS button.
  5. Click on the link for Incident DT026.

10:30am (9/30/2010) - Microsoft has reported that the issue was resolved on their server. We tested several affected accounts to verify that they are now functional.
