CRITICAL: Infected Spam Attachments (Amazon, Hi5, Hallmark, and Twitter)

As of 6/08/2009, a number of spam e-mails were sent to VSU e-mail addresses from senders disguising themselves as companies such as Amazon, Hi-Five, Hallmark, and Twitter. If the zip file attachments are opened, a number of viruses will be transmitted ot the computer. Please do not under any circumstances open these attachments. Instead, delete these e-mails immediately.

Our Information Security branch has isolated the cause of this issue and is working to resolve it.

If you are using a VSU-owned computer that you believe has become infected, please submit a Helpdesk Technical Assistance Request Form.

If you are using a personally-owned computer that you believe has become infected, please scan your computer with AVG Free Edition, which can be found on our downloads page.
