Re-install the JRE |
The IT Staff at VSU have developed a slightly different method for re-installing the JRE. This process consists of three separate steps:
Un-installing the current JREBack to topStep 1Select Control Panel from the Start Menu. Step 2Open the Item named Add or Remove Programs. Step 3Click on the item named Java 2 Runtime Environment in the list.
Step 4Click on the Remove button. Removing the files that got left behindBack to topStep 1Open My Computer. Step 2Open the C: Drive. Step 3Open the Program Files folder. Step 4Right-click on the folder named Java and select Delete from the menu that appears. ![]() Manually installing the JREBack to topStep 1Go to the following webpage:
Step 2Click on the Java link in the sidebar.
Step 3Click on the Java 1.5.0_07 link.
Step 4Make sure that you click the Save button instead of clicking Run or Open. Step 5Double-click on the file you downloaded to begin the installation. When installing, don't change any of the options, the default values are okay. ![]() |
