IronPort Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook 2007

This section will walk users through the download, installation, and use of the IronPort plug-in for Microsoft Outlook 2007. This plugin adds a convenient toolbar for Outlook that allows users to quickly mark messages as spam or not spam.

Step 1

Close all windows of Microsoft Outlook. Right-click on the link below.

Step 2

Click Save Target As...

Choose Save Target As from the Drop Down Menu

 

Step 3

Choose Desktop in the Save in: drop-down box. Then, click the Save button.

Step 4

Extract the Ironport Plug-in from the zip file. Then, double-click IPComplaintSetup.exe. For assistance on extracting zip files, click on this link.

Click on Ironports setup.

 

Step 5

The IronPort Plug-in for Outlook installation wizard will appear. Click Next.

Step 6

Read through the license agreement. Then, click the I Agree button.

Step 7

The program will install a series of files. When it has completed, click the Finish button.

Step 8

Open Microsoft Outlook. A IronPort toolbar appears including the Spam and Not Spam buttons.

Step 9

When you receive spam, click on the e-mail to highlight it. Then, click the Spam button on the IronPort toolbar.

Mark Unsolicited E-mails as Spam

 

Step 10

When you do, the e-mail is moved to your Deleted Items folder, and you will get a confirmation message letting you know that the submission is complete. Click the OK button.
