Setting a Primary Key

Step 1:

Right-click on a table and click Design View in the pop-up menu that appears.

Step 2:

Right-click on a field. Then, click Primary Key in the pop-up menu that appears.

Step 3:

When you have done so, a yellow key icon should appear to the left of the field.

Step 4:

Once you have added all the fields you wish, click the X button. Make sure you are clicking the lower button. Otherwise, you will exit Access altogether.

Close the Table, but not Access

 

Step 5:

When you are prompted to save the changes, click the Yes button.

Save Your Changes

 

Congratulations!

You have successfully set the primary key!
