Power Button:

The power button is located on the back left hand side of the monitor.

CD/DVD Drive:

The CD/DVD drive slot is located on the top of the right hand side of the monitor.

Volume Buttons:

The volume buttons are located on the upper right hand corner of the keyboard.

The CD Eject button is located on the very upper right hand corner of the keyboard.

Desktop View

Desktop

  1. Finder - The iMac's file browser
  2. Dashboard - Gives you access to the widgets.
  3. Safari - The iMacs default web browser.
  4. Mozilla Firefox - Another web browser.
  5. iTunes - A media player, used mainly to play audio files.
  6. QuickTime Player - A media player, used mainly to play video files.
  7. Microsoft Word - Microsofts Office word processor.
  8. Microsoft PowerPoint - Microsofts Office presentation program.
  9. Microsoft Excel - Microsofts Office spreadsheet program.
  10. Trash Can - Where deleted files go before they are permanently deleted
  11. Jump Drive or Other Device - Desktop icon to access your jump drive. This icon only appears when you have a jump drive or other device inserted.
  12. Macintosh HD - The main hard drive of the iMac.
  13. Apple Button - Used to shut down or restart the computer.
