Updating Mac OS Automatically
Step 1
Click on the System Preferences icon in the dock.
Step 2
In the System section, click the Software Update icon.
Step 3
In the Update Software tab, click the box next to "Check for updates." Then select how often you would like for Mac OS to check for updates. You may choose daily, weekly, or monthly. Highlight your preference and click the "Check Now" button at the bottom of the window.

You have successfully configured Mac OS to check for software updates automatically.
