How to Clear Your Internet Cache and Cookies

1. Check your browser version

You will need to check your browser version. You may check your browser version by following these steps:

  • For Internet Explorer, go to the Help menu and click on About Internet Explorer.
  • For Netscape, go to the Help menu and click on About Communicator.

2. Follow the appropriate configuration instructions for your browser:

  1. Click on Edit in the menu bar
  2. Under Edit, select Preferences
  3. Double click on the word Advanced (not the "+" or "-")
  4. Click on Cache
  5. Click the Clear Memory Cache button and click OK on the confirmation dialog box.
  6. Click the Clear Disk Cache button and click OK on the confirmation dialog box.

Netscape 6.x

  1. Click on Edit in the menu bar
  2. Under Edit, select Preferences
  3. Double-click on Advanced
  4. Click on Cache
  5. Click the Clear Memory Cache button
  6. Click the Clear Disk Cache button

  3. Click the Delete Files... button
  4. Click OK on the confirmation dialog box

  3. Click the Delete Files... button and click OK on the confirmation dialog box
  4. Click the Delete Cookies... button and click OK on the confirmation dialog box
