Downgrading Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or Above to Mozilla Firefox 2.0 (Mac OS)

To downgrade, you will need to install Firefox 2.0. The instructions will walk you through the steps to perform the downgrade.

Step 1:

First, you will need to download Firefox 2.0 from our downloads page. After you click it, a dialogue will pop-up requesting that you either open or save the file.

Click the radio button in front of Save File and then click the OK button.

Step 2:

After the file is downloaded, you should see a zipped folder icon named Firefox2.0.0.20Mac.zip. Double-click this icon and it will create a new file.

Step 3:

Double-click the new file named Firefox 2.0.0.20.dmg. This will begin the installation process.

Step 4:

The Mozilla Firefox license agreement will pop-up, read over it and click the Accept button.

Step 5:

After you accept the terms, a window displaying your new software will pop-up.

Step 6:

On the menu at the top of your desktop, click File. Then, click New Finder Window.

Step 7:

Click Applications in the new window that appears. Then, drag and drop the Firefox icon into the right side of the window.

Step 8:

When your computer asks you if you wish to replace the file,  click the Replace button.

Congratulations!

You have successfully downgraded from Mozilla Firefox to version 2.0!
