Backing up your Outlook Calendar

Step 1

Open Microsoft Outlook.

 

Step 2

Click the File menu. Then, click Import and Export.

Choose Export to a file. Then, click the Next button.

Choose Personal Folder Files (.pst). Then, click the Next button.

Select Calendar. Then, click the Next button.

Note: If you have two copies, one under Personal Folders and one under Archive Folders, make sure you are selecting the copy under Personal Folders.

Step 6

Click on the Browse button. Choose a location to save the file. Press the OK button on the Browse window. Then, click the Next button.

Step 7

Make sure the box in front of Export "Appointments" from folder: Calendar is checked. Then, click the Finish button.

Step 8

You should have a file on your computer with all appointments and events from your Outlook calendar. Please keep this file as a backup, as it can be re-imported if an error occurs that erases your Outlook calendar.

Note: Bear in mind that this is not a readable copy of your events. Thus, if you double-click on the file it will not open properly. The purpose of this backup is to be able to restore those events within Outlook if an error occurs during synchronization that erases your events.
