Disabling Add-ons

There are a number of Internet Explorer add-ons available to increase the functionality of Internet Explorer. However, there are some that can conflict with Banner Forms. To ensure that this does not occur, you will need to perform the following steps for each of the add-ons listed below if you have them installed:

  • Acrobat Browser Helper
  • Discuss (listed under the Add-ons that run without requiring permission drop-down menu)
  • isInstalled Class (listed under the Add-ons that run without requiring permission drop-down menu)
  • Groove GFS Browser Helper
  • Spybot - Search and Destroy
  • SSV Helpdesk Class
  • Web Discussions
  • Shockwave ActiveX Control
  • Shockwave Flash Object
  • Windows Live SIgn-In Helper

Step 1:

Make sure Internet Explorer is open. Click on the Tools menu. Then, click Internet Options.

Click Tools then Internet Options

 

Step 2:

Click the Programs tab.

Click the Programs Tab

 

Step 3:

Cick the Manage add-ons button.

Click Manage add-ons

 

Step 4:

Click on the name of the add-on you wish to disable. Then check the radio button in front ot Disable at the bottom of the window.

Step 5:

Repeat these steps until all conflicting add-ons are disabled. Then, click the OK button.

Click OK

 

Step 6:

Click the OK button.

Click OK

Congratulations! You have successfully disabled conflicting add-ons. Please proceed by removing any Toolbars installed on your computer.
