Technology Program at GHP
The Governors Honors Technology Program consists of a Majors Class (A small, elite group of students who are selected from interviews prior to the start of the Governors Honors Program), and a Minors Class (A group of students who choose to delve into the tech program during GHP).
During the six weeks spent at Governors Honors, students will be given the opportunity to interact with modern technologies such as Robotics, Computers, Web Design, Graphics Design, Photography, 3D Modeling, Animation, and much more. Students are given the chance to compete and collaborate with piers, and show off their work.
The Technology Major
The Technology Major is a large, and diverse course that will introduce students to many forms of Technology, and reveal to students the technology surrounding them in their everyday lives. Students will be given a required set of modules that must be completed by the end of the program. During the six weeks, students will be instructed, as well as become instructors during different projects and presentations.
The Technology Major is given a new project every week on top of the other required coursework which will give them the opportunities to work hands on with technology. Such projects include a class video production, a solar panel powered car, building robots, designing (and manufacturing) T-Shirts, and more.
Students are given the opportunity every week to share a technology related even with the class from world or local news, and in turn learn from other's students articles. Members of the Tech Major are also given opportunities to communicate with the other majors to express their interests, and learn about others.
