What is the area of focus this year at GHP?
This year my students will be concentrating on the physics behind electronics with an emphasis on robots and robot programming.
What activities/strategies are used to accomplish your instructional goals?
Right now we're programming the boe-bot (a type of programmable robot) to do various things and tasks that are practical and useful, and we're manipulating circuitry.
What will be your students' culminating activity?
They are working on a research project using robotics and the Boe-bot.
How much do you like teaching GHP?
It's my 5th summer, and I enjoy it.
If you were a GHP student today, what would you want to be your major?
Science. Physics. I just love physics.
What words or phrases do you overuse?
Hm. I don't know.
Most annoying thing?
Digression.
Why Physics?
I love the puzzles and problems in physics. Whenever a solution is reached, it's always so nice and orderly.
