"The average temperature in Bailey is 0 degrees Kelvin..."

The GHP science department is divided into three main areas: Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. Chemistry is further divided into Biochemistry and Analytical Chemistry, and Biology into Field Ecology and Cognitive Science. Regardless of what science major or minor students choose, they are guaranteed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in research and work with tools not available in their high school science courses.

There were 74 science majors at GHP 2006. Students worked in groups and performed research on the topic of their choice. They then presented their findings at the 2006 GHP Science spectacular during the last week of the program. Every weekend, they also participated in science competitions in groups of three or five.

The science website for 2006 was created and designed by Alma and Vasanth, a physics major and a chemistry major.
