GHP '06 Piano Majors are eight of Georgia's best pianists. They have a very packed schedule during the six weeks at GHP. During the first week, they were given pieces to sight-read which they would play in front of Dr. Indergaard after an hour of practicing. Towards the middle of GHP, most of Piano majors work on about three to four pieces at a time. Sometimes, they have Master Classes where the students play their piece in front of the class. Dr. Indergaard critiques and other piano majors give their opinions.
The piano majors have many events and projects such as the Claude Debussy unit; students were assigned pieces composed by Debussy to perform at the Piano Majors Concert. Other projects include eight hand two piano pieces and chamber groups in which the students formed groups with strings or woodwinds.
