    Welcome to GHP Latin 2006! The main focus of the Latin major includes examining the fall of the Roman Empire and speaking Latin. The students learn about Latin through debates, projects and Latin stories. All foreign language majors are required to create and present a final project to the class. The subject of these projects will be about Roman Civilization.

A Typical Day in Latin

    Latin Majors enjoy intellectual, artistic, physical, and linguistic activities. They write in journals in Latin to record their daily activities and thoughts. Next, they speak Latin during story time which includes making up wild stories with animals in strange locations. They debate the fall of the Roman empire. They play ultimate frisbee everyday on their break. They read Latin authors and discuss their significance and Latin style. Finally, they present in depth projects on a topic of their choice pertaining to the Roman world. Of course, Cabaret was a significant event for them because they made Latin a living language through their dramatic presentation of Star Wars.
