The Computer Minor is taught in two seperate computer labs, by a group of skilled instructors. Each instructor excels in different areas, and all bring something unique and fun to the table.
Mrs. JoAnn Jones is the GHP Computer Department Head. Away from GHP she is a Middle School Media Specialist in Valdosta. In 2005 she was the Media Specialist of the Year for her school system and runner up for the state. As a graduate student she was chosen the Most Outstanding Instruction Technology Student. She and Mr. Jones have three lovely daughters, Raja, Daaimah and Aliyah and two adorable cats, Storm and Little Rock. In her spare time Mrs. Jones enjoys computers, reading, gardening and sewing. Her favorite book is "The Bonesetter's Daughter" by Amy Tan and she likes jazz a lot. Mrs. Jones enjoys the GHP computer department because, "when you try to stay on the cutting edge you are in a constant state of change and learning and everyday unfolds anew." According the Mrs. Jones her biggest challenge at GHP is get her students to go out and play at "recess."

Jonathan Bryant served as the Computer Instructor at GHP 2006. He is a student at Valdosta State University majoring in Computer Science with minors in Mathematics and Music (Jazz). His primary focus is in distributed, parallel, and grid computing, and is involved in a joint project with faculty members at Mercer University to write a web crawling engine. In addition to taking classes during the school year, he is employed by VSU's Information Technology group as a Student Intern performing Unix system administration. This summer he helped teach web design for the computer minor, including HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop skills. He has lived in Valdosta for the past six years.

Jared Summers served as the Computer Lab Technician at GHP 2006. He is currently enrolled at North Carolina State University as a graduate student in Computer Science. This summer he assisted in teaching students basic CSS and HTML skills.

Andrew Maier served as the Computer Lab Technician at GHP 2006. He is currently enrolled at Georgia Tech majoring in Discrete Mathematics and is cross-enrolled at Georgia State University taking classes in Voice. Outside of GHP he works at IRTA-MCA doing software engineering, statistics/accounting, and various managerial tasks. This summer he assisted in teaching students basic CSS, basic HTML, and Photoshop skills. Mr. Maier worked to promote learning through class discussion and interactive tutorials, as well as hosting a Photoshop tutorial for beginners. He attended the program in 2000 majoring in Math and taking Computers as his minor. He resides in Atlanta.
