What will you teach this year at GHP?
The League of Extraordinary Literary Characters
What activities/strategies are used to accomplish your instructional goals?
I like to pepper my classes with different media and activities, I don't like them just to be about one text, I try to engage several learning styles with each class, I like taking my kids outside to the library - changing up the scenery, I try to enable my students to get their hands on the material and be active in their learning process.
What will be your students' culminating activity?
Comm. Arts changes every week so each class has their own little project. Depending on the class, the students may make 'zines, their own personal archive, posters/displays/collages, write their own poetry, essays, and creative pieces.
How much do you like teaching GHP?
I love teaching GHP. It has been both the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done. My students never cease to invigorate me with their energy, passion, and creativity.
If you were a GHP major today, what would you want to be your major?
Once a Commie, always a Commie.
Most annoying thing?
The "ahhhh" sound that peopel make that means "That's sooooo cute/sweet/adorable." It's the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard.
