Communicative Arts

What does "Communicative Arts" mean, anyway??

Communicative Arts majors (Commies) live off coffee and hot chocolate, trying to avoid the zombie foot-drag that the other majors develop in the mornings. The four hours set aside for major classes each day are split into two sessions for the Commies, and new classes are offered each week.

This is not your typical high school English class. The Comm. Arts department at GHP offers courses for everyone, from zombie buffs to existentialists, from Jim Henson fans to southern freaks. Classes don't seem like classes because your instructors won't tell you what to think, but allow you to think on your own. There are no tests to pass, and there are no five-paragraph essays. Communicative Arts means more than being able to express yourself (communication...), it means doing it well, to understand the people around you, to understand yourself, and to figure out the meaning of life...?
