A typical day in the art studio is a four hour period of creativity and learning! The day starts slowly because everybody is usually really tired in the mornings but eventually turns into an exciting place of drawing and painting! Walking through the studio on a typical day, you can see each individual person's style emerge through their art work. In the first three weeks a typical day would consist of rotations, which are different little work shops that would help us learn more interesting techniques in drawing, painting and in sculpture. There were many guest artists that came to teach us including Chris Greenway, who taught us some interesting painting techniques using ideas of design. The art majors also got to make their own personal books with Lisa Hart. We have been able to create in a wonderful space for absolutly no cost to ourselves but only because we have kept it clean. We have to keep the studios clean in order to recieve extra time to work on our projects. This time is called open studio.

.

The art majors have really been using the extra studio time to finish up projects. At the end of the program, art majors and minors will submit three of their strongest works of art in hopes that the judge will choose it for the show. The show will be a very proud moment for all of the artists because they will get their chance to share what they have been working on for six weeks if selected. This event is a great end to the program that inspired all of the beautiful art!
