General Information
More than just cows and fields, Agricultural Science is a broad range of topics from environmental science to biotechnology. In fact, this year's agricultural science majors (Aggies) focused on the idea that everything is done for a purpose. In other words, students in this major and minor learned new information and applied it to existing products in order to improve them.
Encouraged to be brave and always try something new, the Aggies conducted research projects that reflected their interests in the various fields of agricultural science. Although these students came from diverse segments of Georgia, they all worked together to reach their common goal of bettering the world through agricultural science.
Selection Process
In order to be a major in agricultural science, students had to be nominated by a teacher in their schools to interview at the local level after filling out an application form. After passing this level, students then had a state level interview. If chosen, students were extended the invitation to attend GHP.
