Cary Brague
Cary Brague, Associate Director of the Governor's Honors Program, is in his fifteenth year of serving GHP. He works alongside Dr. Searle year-round in Atlanta at the Department of Education to prepare for the annual summer GHP residency program. He also assists in the administration of the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship, the Georgia Scholar Program, and the United States Senate Youth Program.
Before joining the Department of Education, Mr. Brague taught as a K-12 band director, and was a jazz studies and saxophone professor at the collegiate level. As a performing musician, he has worked with music industry artists such as Tony Bennett, Dr. John, the Manhattan Transfer, and with professional ensembles such as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra.
Mr. Brague earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree from Jacksonville State University (Jacksonville, Alabama), and a Master of Music in Jazz and Contemporary Media degree from the Eastman School of Music (Rochester, New York).
