Federal Work Study Program
- Bi-Weekly Staff and Student Pay Calendar
- Student Job Assignment Questionnaire
- Supervisor Request Form
1) The first step to take in applying for Federal Work-Study (FWS) is to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). You must select “Work-Study” under the “Type of Aid Requested” section of the FAFSA.
2) Federal Work-Study (FWS) eligibility is based on established financial need. Jobs are located on and off campus and work schedules can be planned around your class schedule.
3) FWS money is not available at registration to pay your fees. FWS awards are earned during the term. Students are paid bi-weekly for actual hours worked.
4) All FWS recipients will receive an Award Letter with the amount per semester the student is eligible to earn. If you do not see FWS on your Award Letter from the OFA please contact the Work-Study Coordinator, Rett Moore, at 229.333.5935. The Office of Financial Aid coordinates the FWS Program and will provide eligible students with a FWS questionnaire. This questionnaire allows you to list your job skills and areas of interest. The OFA uses this information to make FWS assignments and strives to honor student preferences as long as the employer’s requirements can be met. Assignments are made for the entire academic year.
5) Student Assistant positions are also available through various offices on campus. The Student Employment Office (located in Langdale Hall) also maintains a listing of the available student assistant positions on-line under On Campus Jobs.
6) The Career Services Office located in Powell Hall West, 2nd floor can also assist students in locating off campus employment.
