NAME: HOPE Promise Scholarship
DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this Program is to attract high-achieving undergraduates into the teaching profession and provide them with financial assistance beginning the junior year and continuing the senior year. Scholarship recipients agree to teach in a Georgia public school at the preschool, elementary, or secondary level after graduation. If a recipient fails to meet this obligation, the scholarship becomes a loan, which must be repaid in cash, with interest.

DESCRIPTION: The James Madison Memorial Fellowship seeks applicants committed to a career in teaching American history, American government or social studies at the secondary level.
Applicants can attend any institution of higher education in the United States for either a Master of Arts degree (A), a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), or a Master of Education degree (MED) with an emphasis on American history, government or political science.

DESCRIPTION: Through it's Dissertation Fellowships, the Spencer Foundation seeks to encourage a new generation of scholars from a variety of field to undertake research relevant to the improvement of education.

NAME: Scholarship Opportunity for Students in Public Health Fields
Georgia Public Health Association Glaxo Wellcome Scholarship
DESCRIPTION: To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must:
- be a resident of Georgia
- be enrolled fulltime in an accredited, post secondary academic institution
- have completed at least one year of post-secondary study
- be actively pursuing a major related to public health (e.g. health education, nursing, epidemiology, public health policy, etc.)
- maintain a gpa of at least 3.0 overall.
Applicants must submit the following to be considered for this award:
- cover letter, including current contact information (address, phone number, etc.)
- current curriculum vita or resume
- verification of gpa and course enrollment (preferably a current transcript)
- an essay, no longer than 250 words (contact scholarship organization for the topic)
- at least one letter of recommendation from a faculty member or employer.

NAME: Cobb County Medical Society Alliance Health Careers Scholarship
DESCRIPTION: This scholarship is limited to undergraduate students currently enrolled full time in allied health areas, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, radiology technology, etc. Pre-medical, pre-dental and dental hygiene students are not eligible for this scholarship. Students who have been accepted at a college or university, but not into a particular health program, are not eligible for this scholarship.
This is a need based scholarship. Preference will be given to Cobb County residents when all factors are equal. Only students who have been formally accepted into their health major will be considered for the scholarship.
