NAME: HOPE Teacher Scholarship
DESCRIPTION: Funded by the Georgia Lottery for Education and is a component of the HOPE scholarship program. This scholarship provides financial assistance to teachers, counselors and individuals seeking advanced degrees in critical fields of study in education. Scholarship recipients agree to teach in a GA. public school at the preschool, elementary or secondary level after graduation. If a recipient fails to meet this obligation, the scholarship becomes a loan, which must be repaid in cash with interest. Applications should be available late spring semester.

NAME: International Order of The King's Daughters and Sons Health Careers Scholarship
DESCRIPTION: This scholarship Program is supported entirely through contributions. This award is free of obligation on the part of the student, except to serve with dedication. Students preparing for careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical or occupational therapy and medical technologies are eligible to apply. A student must be a U.S. citizen or Canada. For all students except those preparing for an R.N. degree, applications must be for at least the third year of college. R.N. students must have completed the first year of schooling. Pre-med students are not eligible to apply. For those students seeking degrees of M.D. or D.D.S. applications must be for at least the second year of medical or dental school. Each applicant must supply proof of acceptance in the school involved. There is no age limit.

DESCRIPTION: The program awards graduate student scholarship in several disciplines to support student research in the national parks. Awards are made in four broad discipline areas:
Biological sciences (such as botany or ecology),
Physical sciences (such as geology or atmospheric sciences),
Social sciences (such as economics or sociology(, and
Cultural sciences (such as ethnography or archeology)
The awards are based in an annual completion in each of the displince areas just described, Briefly, the program operates as follows,
Students submit research proposals on specific topics selected by NPS park managers.
Student proposals are evaluated by scientific panels convened by the AAAS Directorate for Education and Human Resources Programs.
The AAAS panels select the winning graduate students who become Canon National Parks Science Scholars.
The National Park Foundation transfers scholarship funds to each student's university providing tuition, fieldwork, a stipend and other expenses associated with each student's research.
The student complete their graduate research, write a dissertation, prepare a popular article in the significance of the research and give a public lecture about their work.

DESCRIPTION: Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be United States citizens or nationals or permanent resident aliens of the United States. DESCRIPTION: The Network for Professionals and Executives Scholarship has established a scholarship fund for women admitted to upper division baccalaureate or graduate degree programs. The purpose of this fund is to promote the profession development of women of our area. the $1000 award will be sent directly to the accredited college or university of the recipient's choice.
