CATEGORY: MINORITIES NAME: The Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship DESCRIPTION: To be awarded to an upper division undergraduate or graduate student of public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management). The purpose of the Minorities in government Finance Scholarship is to recognize outstanding performance by minority students preparing for careers in state and local government finance. Eligibility: Currently a full or part time upper-division undergraduate or graduate student in public administration (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management). Belong to one of the following groups (as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau) Black, Indian, Eskimo or Aleut, Asian or Pacfic Islander, Hispanic Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada. NAME: Access to Education Scholarships
DESCRIPTION: The USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships program will award renewable scholarships to students with financial need. Scholarships will be targeted to students who, in addition to demonstrating financial need, are members of an ethnic-minority group or are physically disabled. Students must maintain a 2.5 gpa on a 4.0 scale.

NAME: The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Spouses Education Scholarship
DESCRIPTION: Any graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning, or a full time undergraduate, graduate or doctoral student with a minimum 2.5/4.0 gpa is eligible to apply for these scholarships. All applicants must also provide a completed financial statement.
All applicants must: - complete the CBC Spouses Education scholarship application. - submit an official high school or college transcript with the application. - write a personal statement (500 words or more) describing your interest and involvement in the following school activities, community and public service, hobbies, special talents, sports, etc. The personal statement must also speak to the applicant's future career plans. - submit two letters of recommendation - submit a recent photograph

CATEGORY: MINORITIES NAME: The Gates Millennium Scholars DESCRIPTION: Individuals are eligible to be nominated as Gates Millennium Scholars if they are African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific American or Hispanic citizens/permanent residents of the United States. They must also have a 3.3 gpa on a 4.0 scale. Must have been accepted or enrolled full time in an accredited college or university for the academic year at the time of the award or have applied to, have been accepted into or are enrolled in a graduate degree program in mathematics, science (including life sciences, physical sciences and computer science), engineering, education or library science for the academic year at the time the nomination is complete; have significant financial need as defined by the federal needs analysis formula; have demonstrated leadership ability through participation in community service, extracurricular activities or other activities. NAME: Hispanic Scholarship Fund
DESCRIPTION: Must be of Hispanic heritage (one parent fully Hispanic or each parent half Hispanic). Be a US citizen or a legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired). Be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a US accredited college or university in the US, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands. Have earned at least 12 undergraduate units in a US accredited college or university. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.
