Rebecca Murphy

Rebecca Murphy, Assistant Director of Human Resources for Employee Development

Rebecca has been a member of the Valdosta State University community since January 1994. In her current position she oversees the professional development opportunities for VSU employees. Additionally, she is very involved with promoting campus wellness and co-leading the campus Conflict Resolution Committee.

Rebeccca received her Master of Science degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from VSU in 1993 and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Communication/Psychology from Troy State University in 1989.

Rebecca is a native of Central Florida. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Other certifications and training include Certificate in Management from VSU Continuing Education's American Management Association series, Focus Group Director from the Greenley Institute, Mediation and Conflict Coaching from the Consortium on Negotiation and Conflict Resolution and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Southern Polytechnical Institute.

Tim Yorkey

Lt. Tim Yorkey, Training Specialist

Tim has been a member of the Valdosta State University community since June of 1980. He is currently serving as a Training Specialist with the Employee and Organizational Development Department, a unit of Human Resources and Employee Development at Valdosta State University.  As a Training Specialist, he specializes in Law Enforcement training and provides various topics of instruction to area Law Enforcement officers. He also instructs at the institutional level on a variety of topics which include First Aid/CPR, Defensive Driving, new staff employee orientation, customer service, management and leadership skills, communication skills, time management, and conflict management skills.

Tim received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 1988 and an Associate of Arts in 1986 from Valdosta State University.  Over the course of time he has been with Valdosta State University, he as obtained multiple Professional Certifications in Managerial and Supervisory fields. He also has earned several Professional Instructor Certifications which enables him to instruct in the fields of Emergency Medical, Defensive Driving, Management, Supervision and Law Enforcement. Tim also holds certifications which enables him to train new instructors in multiple fields.

He holds memberships with the Automated External Deliberator Instructor Association, American Red Cross, the University’s Council on Staff (Two terms as Chair), Police Benevolent Association, Georgia Chiefs of Police and Westside Baptist Church of Valdosta.

Regina Lee

C. Regina Lee, Administrative Secretary

Regina joined the VSU family as Senior Secretary for the Office of Employee and Organizational Development in March 1999. She has also worked as a cashier in the VSU Bookstore.

Regina obtained her diploma in Business Office Technology from Valdosta Technical College in October of 1999. She is currently enrolled at VSU seeking a degree in Business Education.

In addition to being a valued employee and hardworking student, Regina is the proud mother of three children, Michael, Kyle, and Labreshia, and one grandson, Zamarrian.
