Nevins Renovation Project, Phase II
Overview:
"This major capital project seeks funds to renovate classrooms, teaching and research laboratories, faculty and support spaces in Nevins Hall which currently houses the academic departments of Mathematics and Computer Science, and current vacated office space. The current facility for Mathematics has only one computer lab and no labs for faculty research. A major portion of the renovation will involve improvements within the building as feasible; existing corridors and most existing walls will remain unchanged, and where appropriate, existing spaces will be updated and reconfigured rather than completely remodeled. A major part of the renovation will involve complete change out of outdated HVAC systems in the building. Nevins Hall occupies a prominent location on the main campus of the University and is the first major building one sees upon entering the campus from the main entrance. The building is pedestrian friendly and is within walking distance of every building on the main campus. Parking for faculty is existing and student parking is provided in two of the main parking lots which are within easy walking distance of the facility. Campus shuttle buses load and unload at the building providing convenient student transportation to and from the facility. This project as Phase II, will complete the renovation of this facility."
