OPEN ENROLLMENT UPDATES PLAN YEAR 2010

Closes November 20, 2009

  • The Board of Regents Indemnity plan will no longer be available. The PPO plan will increase by 12% . The High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP/HSA) premiums will increase by 5.92% and the Dental will increase by 4%.
  • The PPO network has greatly expanded coverage under Blue Cross/ Blue Shield. Medco will continue to serve as the Pharmacy Benefit Manager for PPO. A new mail order prescription plan will be available for PPO only.
  • The Board of Regents Dental plan is available during this year’s open enrollment. The benefit has increased from $1,000/yr to $1,200/yr and there is now a separate orthodontia benefit of $1,000.
  • The High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) will be seeded by the system office for employees currently on the plan and for those who elect the plan this year. This means the USG will put ½ the annual deductible into your Health Savings Account (HSA). This will be done in two installments. Fee information for HSA for US Bank.

For US BANK If you were a member in 2009 then this year you will not pay a set up fee ($15) but you will pay a monthly $3.25 fee.

FOR US BANK If you are  a brand new member then you pay both.

  • It is important to review your dependent and beneficiary information. Every dependent you have on file must have a valid Social Security Number on record and your beneficiaries must be appropriately designated. If you have a missing or invalid SSN on record you will receive a letter from ADP advising you that a correction must be made or the dependent will be dropped on November 20, 2009. Why does ADP need SSN of dependents?

No Hardship Withdrawals - Please Note

In these tough economic times, the BOR has begun to receive a growing number of inquiries regarding the availability of hardship withdrawals from the ORP and/or the TRS plans. These plans are governed by the plan document and/or the Georgia State Code which do not allow for hardship withdrawals. Neither the USG nor the Board at TRS can make any exceptions. It would take change by the legislators to allow for hardship withdrawals.
