- The estimated financial aid awards provided by this calculator include awards from both need-based and merit-based programs. The merit-based awards include Georgia's HOPE Scholarship and other scholarship programs which have strict academic eligibility requirements.
- Eligibility for the HOPE Scholarship will be determined upon the university receiving your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Georgia Scholarship/Grant Application (GSFAPPS) in addition to final GPA calculations by the appropriate agency. If the student does not meet these requirements, the award will be significantly less than calculated.
- The estimates created by the net price calculator are applicable to first-time students and are based on full-time enrollment of 15 credits per semester.
The estimates shall not be binding on the U.S. Department of Education, Valdosta State University, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, or the State of Georgia.

Not all students receive financial aid. In 2010-11, 83% of our full-time students enrolling for college for the first time received
grant/scholarship aid. Students may also be eligible for student loans and work-study. The estimated cost of attendance includes transportation
costs and other personal expenses generally incurred by a student. The VSU Office of Financial Aid includes these expenses in the estimated
cost of attendance and strives to provide financial aid options to help cover these expenses.
The estimate for transportation includes the cost of gasoline, maintenance, insurance and a modest monthly payment for a vehicle.
Estimates for personal expenses are designed to cover the cost of a variety of purchases, including personal hygiene items, some clothing and
other small necessary purchases.
A student's actual cost of attendance will depend greatly upon his/her personal situation and can be significantly less than the estimates provided.
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to determine their eligibility for Federal financial
