Ms. Rebecca Murphy

USG Task Force for Training and Professional Development

ray

Mr. Ray Sable serves on the System-Level Energy Management Plan Team. The scope of this project includes development of a Sustainable Energy Management Plan (SEMP) that will apply to all University System of Georgia (USG) institutions. The Sustainable Energy Management Plan will establish a management framework within which energy savings opportunities are identified, measured, compared to standards, and continuously improved. The SEMP was written by a team of people from several USG institutions and was presented to the Chancellor in the Spring 2007. Through this project, the USG will lay the foundation for sustained savings by integrating technical best practices with management best practices. It suggests continual improvement will be applied to campus energy management as it has been applied to industry. The four best management practices -- Plan, Do, Check, Act -- will form a systematic approach to managing energy that will continuously produce energy savings and lead us towards sustainability in the future.
