Facilities

Valdosta State University offers a variety of quality facilities in a number of different locations suitable for meetings, conferences, receptions, and many other events.  Below is a listing of all available facilities (indoor and outdoor) and their seating capacities.  For special requests of indoor or outdoor facilities not listed below, please make your request through Event Services.

  • Audio visual equipment can be checked out by the user from Media Services.
  • Only VSU Catering and other VSU Dining facilities may provide food and drinks.
  • Due to offices being nearby, no loud events will be scheduled in this facility.
  • A limited number of tables and chairs are available for this facility. These items must be requested from Event Services at the time of the event request. The user must set up and break down their event. The tables and chairs may be taken from the trailer outside of Ashley Hall.
  • All event coordinators will need to call University Police to gain entry into the facility. (229-333-7816)

CONTINUING EDUCATION 8am-10pm

Located south of the main campus, at 903 N. Patterson Street.

Policies

  • The Continuing Education Master Calendar takes precedence over reserving Continuing Education facilities.
  • Audio visual equipment in this facility is operated by Information Technology.
  • Only VSU Catering and other VSU Dining facilities may provide food and drinks.
  •  All tables and chairs for this facility must be requested from Event Services at the time of the reservation and are delivered/setup by Plant Operations.
  • If scheduling permits, setup of these facilities may be altered (see Special Service Fees).
  • A piano is available in the Auditorium.
  • Information Technology will open the facility for those requesting audio visual support; all other reservations will need to call University Police (229/333-7816) for entry into facility.
  • For events occurring after 5:30pm, a CE Building Manager is requires (see Special Service Fee.)

  • Event Services will coordinate for a Fine Arts Building Manager to be on site at all times.

  • Street shoes are not allowed on the Arena floor.

  • The Athletic Department will provide all concessions.
  • This facility is not available for use by non-affiliated organization.

  • Only VSU Catering and other VSU Dining facilities may provide food and drinks in the Lounge located on the bottom floor; no other food or drinks are allowed in the building.
  • Information Technology operates the audio visual equipment in this facility.
  • All tables and chairs for this facility must be requested at the time of the reservation and are delivered/setup by Plant Operations.
  • Information Technology will open the facility for those requesting audio visual support; all other reservations will need to call University Police (229/333-7816) for entry into facility.

  • Academic Affairs will have priority over scheduling this building.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the auditoriums.
  • Banquets may be held in the Atrium only on weekends or when class is not in session, so as not to disturb academic classes.
  • Only VSU Catering and other VSU Dining facilities may provide food and drinks.
  • All tables and chairs for this facility must be requested at the time of the reservation and are delivered/setup by Plant Operations.
  • Audio visual equipment in this facility is operated by Information Technology.

Policies

  • For entry into the requested space, first check-in with the Student Building Manager at the Information Desk, located in the main lobby.
  •  The Student Building Manager will serve as your event contact, unlocking the reserved room(s) and providing requested audio visual equipment. 
  • It is important to notify the Student Building Manager when finished with the room(s) so the facility and equipment can be secured.
  • Only VSU Catering and other VSU Dining facilities may provide food and drinks.
  • Audio visual equipment in this facility is operated by the UC Information Desk.
  • A piano is available in the Magnolia Room.
  • Please note that no food or drink is allowed in the Theater.
  • The lounges, computer area, hallways, and food court, are available for gathering places but are not reserved for events.
  • The furniture may not be moved unless approved by the Building Manager.
  • The Executive Dining Room is only available for scheduling after confirmation from the President’s Office.

Policies

  • Outdoor events must be sponsored by a registered student organization or university department/organization.
  • Users cannot hang items, signage, banners, etc. on building surfaces without prior approval from Event Services.
  • Users cannot hang any items, signage, or banners from light posts, trees, and/or other landscape/vegetation without prior approval from Student Life.
  • VSU University Police will monitor sound levels and inform users when sound levels must be lowered.
  • Sound may not begin before 9 am and not continue past 7 pm.
  • Users or their guests may not block any access ways, pathways, handicap ramps, doors, or other areas.
  • Outdoor events involving radio stations, bands, DJs or other sound amplification must be identified at the time of the reservation request with Event Services.
  • Profanity at outdoor events will not be tolerated.
  • Vendors are not allowed at outdoor events without prior approval from Auxiliary Services.
  • The super cooker grill must be requested from Event Services at the time of the reservation request so delivery arrangements can be coordinated with Plant Operations.
  • All tables and chairs for outdoor facilities must be requested from Event Services at the time of the reservation and are delivered/setup by Plant Operations.
  • Events on Palms Quad requesting tables and chairs must be set up and broken down by the user. The tables and chairs can be accessed through the trailer located near Palms Quad. All other locations, Plant Operations will deliver and set up tables and chairs.
  • Vehicles are not allowed on grass/concrete without prior approval from Event Services.

  • The Student Recreations center staff schedules all events for the SRC.
  • If the event is a fundraiser, the user must fill out fundraiser papers at the Event Services office.
