Intro to BlazeVIEW (powered by Blackboard Vista 8)

This session is intended for new or beginning users. In this workshop, you will get a hands-on introduction to the Section Designer role in BlazeVIEW (VSU’s online course management system). The focus will be on the features and functions of the BlazeVIEW Learning Module, managing and sharing your content, and organizing your content and other BlazeVIEW course tools into a learning path for students. Bring your syllabus or lecture notes with you as a Word file, webpage, or other document file, and leave this workshop with your materials in BlazeVIEW.

 

BlazeVIEW for Advanced Users (powered by Blackboard Vista 8)

This session is intended for experienced users who have already been using BlazeVIEW. In this workshop, you will get a hands-on guide through some of the more advanced BlazeVIEW features and uses.  Among the features to be explored include, grading forms, goals, custom settings, the group manager tool, peer-reviews, date-rollover and much more.

 

BlazeVIEW Grade Book

This introductory workshop will provide an overview of the VSU BlazeVIEW Grade Book features, creating and managing grade book columns, entering student grades, creating calculated columns, column settings, editing and overriding grades, audit history, denying and granting student access, and backing up your section grades by exporting to a spreadsheet. Workshop participants will work hands on in a VSU BlazeVIEW training section.

 

Clickers in the Classroom – A TurningPoint Workshop

With Clickers, every student in class can respond to questions asked by the instructor. This makes it possible for faculty to evaluate student learning and comprehension as content is being presented. Using Clickers can help increase student engagement and class participation. This workshop provides Hands-on training that shows instructors 1) how to adopt Clickers for their course, 2) how to use TurningPoint to create Polling questions in PowerPoint, and 3) how to post Clicker Responses to the BlazeVIEW grade book.   For more information about Clickers please review the following website

 

Respondus 101 Workshop

Respondus is a Windows application that enhances the functions and features of WebCT's quiz, survey, and self-test tools. Respondus allows you to author quizzes offline, import existing questions from a word processing file, and publish the quizzes directly to your WebCT course. The application can be used to manage and print multiple versions of your test for face to face courses. (Currently this training is for faculty who are using WebCT Vista.)


Wimba Classroom

This workshop will introduce you to Wimba Classroom version 5 (with video). Learn the basic structure of the interface to deliver a live online session, and to archive sections for later viewing or as a study tool. Learn to upload and display PowerPoint presentations and use the eBoard tools.
