Wimba Classroom (web conference)
Wimba Classroom™ 5.2, is a live, virtual classroom within BlazeVIEW (powered by Blackboard Vista 8) that includes audio, video, application sharing and content display where faculty and students can engage the web-based conferencing as if they were meeting face-to-face.

Voice tools facilitate and promote vocal instruction, collaboration, coaching, and assessment. Increase the interaction and student engagement level of any online class by allowing faculty and students to easily embed vocal interactions into the page level of BlazeVIEW (powered by Blackboard Vista 8).

Respondus 101
Respondus is a Windows application that enhances the functions and features of quizzes, surveys, and self-tests in BlazeVIEW (powered by Blackboard Vista 8). Respondus allows you to author quizzes offline, import existing questions from a word processing file, and publish the quizzes directly to your BlazeVIEW course. The application can be used to manage and print multiple versions of your test for face to face courses. (Currently this training is for faculty who are using BlazeVIEW.)

BlazeVIEW Grade Book
This introductory workshop will provide an overview of the BlazeVIEW (powered by Blackboard Vista 8) Grade Book features, creating and managing grade book columns, entering student grades, creating calculated columns, column settings, editing and overriding grades, audit history, denying and granting student access, and backing up your section grades by exporting to a spreadsheet. Workshop participants will work hands on in a BlazeVIEW training section.

Technology Spotlight: Google Docs
This is our new monthly workshop where we introduce new and exciting educational technologies that relate to the field of Distance Learning. This month we will be showcasing Google Docs. Come to this session and get up to speed on this free collaboration tool that lets you upload documents online to edit and share (with those you grant access) and then save documents back to your computer.

Intro to BlazeVIEW (powered by Blackboard Vista 8)
This session is intended for new or beginning users who have NOT used WebCT Vista or other online course management systems. In this workshop, you will get a hands-on introduction to the Section Designer role in BlazeVIEW (VSU’s online course management system). The focus will be on the features and functions of the BlazeVIEW Learning Module, managing and sharing your content, and organizing your content and other BlazeVIEW course tools into a learning path for students. Bring your syllabus or lecture notes with you as a Word file, webpage, or other document file, and leave this workshop with your materials in BlazeVIEW.

What’s New?! BlazeVIEW! (powered by Blackboard Vista 8)
VSU transitioned to Blackboard Vista Version 8 in June 2009, our online course management system formerly called WebCT Vista is now called BlazeVIEW. This hands-on session is intended for existing WebCT Vista users and will provide an overview of some of the changes between WebCT Vista and BlazeVIEW.
