About the Speaker...
Rhonda D Blackburn is the strategic account manager for higher education at Desire2Learn. She manages strategic accounts across the US by helping them strategically plan their eLearning and technology initiatives. Desire2Learn is a company that is transforming teaching and learning with innovative eLearning solutions and has grown to include more than 500 clients with approximately 7 million users across North America, South America, Australia, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
Prior to assuming her role at Desire2Learn, she served as the Associate Provost for Educational Enhancement at the University of Texas at Dallas for the past 3 ½ years. Her duties included working with faculty through their teaching and learning center, implementing and growing instructional technology and distance education, coordinating media services, and researching the classroom experience for both faculty and students. Prior to UT Dallas, she was the Assistant Director for Instructional Technology Services at Texas A&M University for 7 years and worked with faculty on implementing technology into their curriculum and supporting the campus technology needs. She has 21 years of experience teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses ranging from high school and community college to undergraduate and graduate programs.
She has earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2002 and has psychology degrees from Pepperdine University (Master’s in 1995) and Texas A&M University (Bachelor’s in 1991).
