BlazeVIEW: Why You’ll Love Your V8!
Launching Summer 2009

ComputerThe Big Picture

As a part of this transition the VSU Division of Information Technology is upgrading all distance learning systems. The BlazeVIEW production and test servers will be operating on all new hardware, built on top of an upgraded Oracle 10 database. These servers will be housed in a new IT facility in the Oak Street parking garage.

Further Notes.

  • Some USG schools and eCore have moved to Vista 8 effective January 2009 as part of a two phase USG implementation. Many schools across the nation are already using this version of Blackboard Vista.
  • The new version of Vista has resolved the issue with handling Office ‘07 documents.
  • The new version is compatible with the newer versions of Java.

Blackboard Vista is becoming more “open” to the integration of home-grown open-source solutions such as PMWiki and Facebook. As product development progresses, we will be examining new options for the BlazeVIEW implementation.
