Call for Papers - Spring 2008

Fourteenth Annual Symposium on Undergraduate Research

WHAT:

The Council on Undergraduate Research of the College of Arts and Sciences at Valdosta State University invites undergraduate students to present their research to the VSU community at its Fourteenth Annual Symposium on Undergraduate Research to be held on April 10-11, 2008. The purpose of the symposium is to provide students an opportunity to share research papers, laboratory experiments, or independent study projects completed between Spring Semester 2007 and Spring Semester 2008.  The Symposium includes a Thursday night poster session and 15-minute paper presentations in various panel sessions on Friday. The Council will offer one monetary award for the best poster in the Humanities and Social Sciences and one for the best poster in the Sciences and Mathematics. It will also grant one monetary award for the Best Paper.   


HOW:

Students must submit by email a one-page typed abstract and a “Student Information Form” for their poster session or paper presentation to their department or program representative. The abstract guidelines and “Student Information Form” are available online or from a Council representative. Council representatives will submit the abstracts and student information forms from their respective departments or programs by email to the Office of the Dean, College of Arts and Sciences.

CUR Representatives send Abstracts & Student Info. to Dean’s Office: 3/7/08

Notification to students selected to participate in the Symposium: 3/26/08

Submission of Papers to be considered for the Best Paper Award: 3/31/08
